Spanish Translator/Interpreter

Job Description

The Spanish Translator/Interpreter at the Alexandria Volunteer Bureau (AVB) works with Spanish speaking court-ordered community service clients, 4-8 hrs per week. The Spanish Translator/Interpreter works directly with the Alternative Community Service Manager.

Primary duties include:
 

  • Screening and scheduling incoming Spanish phone calls/walk-ins
  • Interpreting meetings between ACS Manager and Spanish speaking clients
  • Following up on active Spanish speaking clients

Secondary duties include:

  • Translating and editing documents needed in Spanish
  • Event support (ie. Arts & Crafts fair)
  • Office support (ie. Filing, answering phone calls)

Skills required include:

  • Fluent English & Spanish
  • Ability to comfortably negotiate the internet and Microsoft Office programs.
       

Candidate should possess some college or relevant experience. 

This position is for 4-8 hrs per week that has potential to grow into part-time. Compensation is $13 per hour. Send cover letter and resume to:
