To register, go to www.escrip.com and choose “Welcome”, enter the ID#150239647 in the appropriate box and then follow the steps as it walks you through the process. In total, the process takes about 10 minutes. AVB will receive between 2-4% of the price of your purchases at Safeway. To earn even more money for the organization, register your debit and credit cards so that stores (see the web site for the list of local and national stores) participating in the program can automatically designate money from your on-line purchases to the organization. Individuals who register their credit cards and debit cards earn 50% more for their organization than individuals who only register their loyalty (i.e. Safeway) cards so consider making that extra step to support AVB. The web site provides a privacy policy that guarantees keeping your data safe. AVB can easily track how much money is generated each month. The web site boasts that some local Virginia schools have generated from $7,000-$10,000! When you check out at the grocery store, you will receive a piece of paper informing you how much money will be donated to the organization.

For those who have registered their cards, you have to renew your membership by November 1. Please return to the website and go to your account and click on “renew”.

Giant Cards:

Purchase Giant gift cards from Fay Slotnick at fslotick@verizon.net and 4% or your purchases will go to AVB. The cards may be delivered to your mailbox/doorstep. There is no markup on the cards—Giant makes the donation! You just have to shop for groceries!

 

United Way Designation:

Every year, the United Way initiates workplace campaigns which enable many people to have their contribution deducted by their employer. If you have the opportunity to donate, you may already know that you also have a choice of organizations you wish to support. AVB is one local agency to whom you may designate as a recipient (Our number is 8005) of your contribution. This system simplifies things for people, ensuring they provide financial support to the causes which are important to them without the hassle of sending separate donations. Please consider AVB if you are contributing to the United Way! Thank you for your support!
