RECOGNIZE AN OUTSTANDING TEEN!

The “Sunrise Optimist Youth Volunteer Award” is given annually to a deserving Alexandria youth who excels by making a difference in our community through volunteerism. To do this, we rely on information from community leaders to tell us about such youth.  So if you know of teen ages16-18 who deserves to be recognized for all of his or her hard work (criteria for nomination) please nominate them by sending in anapplicationby May 30.

STEP ALIVE! Walkathon

STEP ALIVE!, the annual walkathon for the ALIVE! Child Development Center will be held on Sunday, May 4 at 1:30 p.m. Gather at First Christian Church, 2723 King Street, and walk a 5-mile loop through Old Town. Same-day registration fee is $10 for adults and $5 for teens and seniors. Children under 12 walk for free. A picnic for all walkers immediately following.
